When someone is seriously looking for a used camera, the three most mentioned options in Europe are us, MPB and KEH. Let's compare them without sugarcoating what each does well and poorly — including when we recommend you go to the competition.
Transparency notice: this comparison is written by Camera Market, so it's inherently biased by default. We've tried to be self-critical and point out where each one beats us. If you find incorrect data about MPB or KEH, write to us at info@cameramarket.es and we'll correct it with the visible date.

Where Camera Market wins
Shipping speed in Europe. We have a central warehouse in Madrid and secondary hubs in Lisbon and Milan. Orders to the peninsula arrive in 24-48 hours. MPB ships from the UK and shipments to mainland EU take 3-5 days due to post-Brexit customs issues. KEH is another league: 7-14 days with VAT + customs fees paid on delivery.
12-month warranty. Double that of the competition. We include a camera loan during long repairs, MPB and KEH do not.
Local language support. We speak Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, and English. MPB covers English well, French/German/Italian more limited. KEH is English only.
Knowledge of the European market. We know which models sell faster in each market: the X-T3 sells more in Italy than in Poland, the R6 more in Spain than in the Netherlands. That helps us adjust prices and stock by country.
Where Camera Market loses
Smaller catalog. MPB has 8 times more units in stock, KEH 15 times more. If you're looking for a rare model (Pentax K-1 Mark II, Olympus E-M1X, Mamiya medium format), we probably don't have it and MPB/KEH do.
Price on rare models. On popular models (R6, A7 III, X-T3) we are in MPB's range. On rare models where we have few units, the price may be slightly higher due to scarcity. KEH, coming from the United States, can offer lower prices on American bodies before customs.
Niche brands. KEH is especially strong in classic American bodies (used Leica, Mamiya, Hasselblad analog medium format). If you're looking for professional vintage high-end gear, KEH usually has a better catalog.
Listing information. MPB publishes standard detailed photos (8-10 per unit) and long descriptions. Ours are comparable but MPB has more photo volume per average unit.
When NOT to buy from us
If you're looking for a rare cinema or analog medium format body. We probably don't have it. Go directly to KEH.
If you live in the UK or Northern Europe (Sweden, Norway, Finland). MPB has a logistical advantage due to its UK headquarters, better coverage. Although we already ship to those countries, they arrive faster.
If your priority is the absolute lowest price possible. Consider Wallapop / Vinted / eBay private sellers. No warranty or verification but lower net price. Assume the risk.
If you need a specific model available TODAY. If we have 0 units of the model you're looking for, MPB probably has 3-5. Go there.
When to buy from us
If you live in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Poland. Speed and after-sales service in your language without customs. That's our structural advantage.
If you value a long warranty. 12 months with a loaner during repairs is better than a bare 6 months.
If you want human support in Spanish. Our Madrid team answers by phone, email, and WhatsApp during European office hours.
If you want "local market" cameras. Our stock comes mainly from European professional photographers and B2B from closing stores. That usually means better-maintained bodies than generic American stock.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to pay customs when buying from MPB from Spain?
Since Brexit (January 2021), purchases from MPB from the EU are subject to VAT in the destination country and, depending on the declared value, possible customs fees. MPB usually declares the real value, so the final cost after VAT + customs handling can increase by between 21% and 25% of the displayed price. At Camera Market, the price includes VAT and there are no customs fees because we ship from the EU.
What about buying from KEH from Europe?
KEH ships from the United States. Upon arrival in the EU, you pay VAT of the destination country (21% in Spain) plus duties that depend on the product (between 0% and 6.7% for cameras and lenses) plus a courier customs handling fee. The total after customs can increase by 25-35% over the price shown on KEH. It's viable for gear where KEH has a large price advantage or models impossible to find in the EU.
Does Camera Market accept installment payments?
Yes, we offer installment payments via Klarna and SeQura in Spain. For purchases over €300, we can finance between 3 and 12 months, depending on the country. MPB and KEH also offer financing but with different conditions depending on the market.
What happens if the camera arrives defective?
With us: free pickup within 24-48 h, replacement with an equivalent unit or full refund. No questions asked. The 12-month warranty covers any technical defect not caused by misuse. MPB and KEH also accept returns, but international return shipping costs may fall on the buyer depending on the case.
Can I return it for no reason within 14 days?
Yes, all three stores accept no-questions-asked returns within 14 days of receipt, in accordance with European distance selling regulations. At Camera Market, pickup is free within the EU. With MPB and KEH, you may have to pay for return shipping if there was no defect.
Do you buy cameras in addition to selling them?
Yes. Free valuation in under 60 seconds, free home pickup, and payment within 24-48 h after receiving the gear. If you have a complete kit (body + lenses + accessories), one single transaction closes everything. MPB also buys and is probably our most direct competitor on this side of the business.
Final advice
If you're into mirrorless / DSLR cameras from the last 8 years from mainstream brands (Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic) and you live in continental Europe, Camera Market is probably your best option combining price + warranty + speed.
If you're into analog medium format, classic Leica, vintage American gear, unlimited budget, and patience with customs, KEH.
If you're into the largest possible catalog and you live in the UK or Northern Europe, MPB.
The three stores do different things and serve slightly different profiles. There is no "one better than the others" — there is the best one for your specific case.
