Its wide maximum aperture of f/1.4 allows good control of depth of field and performance in low-light conditions. This lens, released in 2009, is designed for Nikon DX mount digital SLR cameras, although it is also compatible with full-frame models.
It includes a special chip that allows focus confirmation, as well as automatic exposure control, metering, and white balance. Its optical construction incorporates hybrid aspherical lenses and multi-layer coating to minimize flare and ghosting. Focusing is manual, with a minimum focusing distance of 1 meter.
