Its great historical novelty was the Dual Pixel CMOS AF, which brought smooth and reliable tracking in Live View and video rarely seen until then, which is why it became a body much loved by videographers on a tight budget.
It is a camera for those who want to learn photography with serious controls, cover events, portraits, travel, or some amateur action, and shoot Full HD with comfortable autofocus thanks to the rotating screen. What lenses are compatible with the Canon EOS 70D?
It uses the Canon EF-S mount, so it accepts both EF-S lenses (designed for APS-C) and the entire EF range for full frame. It does not support RF or EF-M lenses. You have a huge catalog to choose from among Canon EF mount lenses.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes, it is a good body for learning: it offers automatic modes and a very comfortable articulated touchscreen, but also full manual controls to grow. It is more advanced than an entry-level DSLR, making it a purchase that won't hold you back soon.
How does it shoot video? Does it do 4K?
It does not shoot 4K: it is a 2013 camera and goes up to Full HD 1080p (30/25/24p) and 720p at 60p. Its strength in video is the Dual Pixel autofocus, which keeps the subject in focus smoothly.
